So where are the walleye?

Everyone keeps asking about the walleye..and where are they?   Well, in my opinion we are still a
bit early, and mother nature has not gotten the lake temp up high enough yet.   All reports I heard
from the last couple of days was spotty at best.  I know some really good fisherman that only had a
couple each day over the weekend.

I took a shot yesterday (Sunday) morning with one of my regular crew mates.   Headed just west of
Van Buren Point to work thru the "breaks" out there.   Got a few white perch and 1 yellow perch, but
no walleye.   Water temps were very cold.   35 feet down in 60 fow was 50 degrees.  Not a lot of
marks on the graph.   I still think we need a good warm week and it will start to pick up!

Perch fishing remains very good at the Dunkirk perch bouy.   Brace yourself when you buy minnows
though...$9 for 3 dozen at the local marina...but, hey, they are certified!   I got my son out Friday afternoon
for a while, and he insisted that I cooked them for him when we got home!
