Dunkirk Report July 5 and 6

After 3 days of blow, mother nature finally relented Sunday.  My son was eager to go, so we made our
way to the boat to give it a go.  Since he's only 8, I try not to push him too hard, so we left the dock with
the agreement that we would quit when he had enough....

The reports we got from our friends aboard Mojo and Alibi sounded great, and I decided to setup inside
the pack.  We popped 3 walleye in the first 15 minutes, and ended up with 4 for just over 90 minutes of
actual fishing....not too bad!   WD Buffalo Bill on the 55 rigger and chattersticks at 145 on the big slides.

Jack holding up one of the fish....notice the WD Buffalo bill over his left shoulder!

July 6 we had a trip with a very nice father/son combo (Tom and Ethan).   Started off with a very steady pick
of walleye, plus the usual hitchhikers in the shallower waters (silver bass, perch, white perch and
sheepshead).  We got one of the largest silver bass I've seen, and also one of the smallest!

WD Buffalo Bill was good on the 55 and 60 riggers, "Popping" the rods.   Chattersticks on the 145 big slide
diver, and also on the smaller diver off the boards (175 back).  Also did one on a 40 jet/chatter combo.

My hat is off to the hearty crew of Tom, Ethan and my mate Marty today.  When we finally quit today, the lake
was really cranking, and we had almost 5 miles up into it to make the harbor.   Lots of white water and a
couple of interesting moments for sure!

I just wanted to thank you for a fun day. Ethan and I really enjoyed the trip. Eventhough we didn't limit out, Ethan thought this trip was way better than our trips out of Port Clinton. We appreciated the hard work you and Marty put in to try and put us in the fish. A great day and we will come back.
