Day 2 of the Ameracan,,,,

Of course there was a pretty stiff north wind blowing to greet us this morning.....I wouldn't know
what to do on a calm lake after yesterday!

Headed out in the "second wave", and shortly after that, noticed a good friend of ours had stopped
running.  After a 45 minute detour to help him in, my team decided we needed to look for "new" water
to try to find a couple big guys.  So we dropped in at 70 fow to run through our marks from the day before
and decided to keep going east.

By all accounts, we were in the midst of a very tough bite.  By 11, most boats we knew had 1 or 2 fish.
We were in that mix with one in the box.   Finally, we hooked into a second on the 10 color that we
ended up dropping, but very closely after that had a rigger go to.....SO, we began to loop back and forth
thru that area.   We ended up with 4, which  was good compared to most.

Fish came off a 10 color rig with 2 oz; 2 off the 65 rigger on copper/orange harness and 1 off the 130 slide
with a mag ring and a DW chicken wing.

Ended up in 28th (unofficially) out of 82 registered boats.  One more good fish each day would likely have
kicked us into the top 15.....oh well, always next year!

Now we need Mother Nature to help warm it up a touch more and get these 'eyes in one place!  One thing
we did notice over the last 3 days was the number of fish we took spitting up bait in the box....looks like our
lures have lots of competition!
