Moon River Ontario (7-21 to 7-24) AND more Lake Erie Winds!

Headed up to Moon Basin Marina (see link on our sponsors page) on the lower Georgian Bay (Ontario)
for a few days of fishing and relaxation with my wife and son.  We did the same trip last year and had a
great time!

Fishing on this trip is more about my son than me, so we spent a fair amount of time doing the worm
thing for small bass, perch and bluegill; and he spent a lot of effort on the rock bass around camp.
All good.   Water was a refreshing 75 for swimming, and it never gets rough, so the 14' boat we rented
was plenty.

We did get a bit of pike fishing in, the biggest was about 22" or so, and Jack got a 17" largemouth
casting a daredevle for pike.  It was interesting to note that the owner thought the fishing was off some
due to the bad weather and lower temps we've had and also I noticed that in many places the deep
weed beds had not even started to grow yet....

The facility was great, and the weather really good for 2 out of 3 days, and of course we ate like kings!

Moon Basin Marina is only about 4.5 hrs from here in Dunkirk, and would be a great place to try for a
long weekend getaway!  Tell Cindy and Kevin (www.moonbasinmarina.com) at we recommended
them!

Another Mother Nature Blow off!     Ended up cancelling Saturday the 25th and Sunday the 26th due
to rough water.   We try again Wed, the Fri-Sat-Sun for the Conservation Club Tournament!  I'll
post reports on those.....weather permitting!
