August 6

Well; forecast did not look appealing at all, so for the second time this
year we ended up cancelling Corey and his group.   Unfortunately for
us, Mother Nature is the one thing we can't control; but at least this
time we got them the night before so they saved on the drive down.

Thanks for the understanding guys, and we'll try it again soon!

So, once we made sure a few other matters were in order in the morning,
Jack and I decided to shoot over to Long Point State Park on Chautauqua
Lake to see if we could round up a few perch.   We probably landed over
75 fish between us, right from shore.  All small sunnies and perch.   Only
kept a couple that were hooked pretty bad.

Now for my soap box......
$6 to get into the park to simply park our car!!!

I know that NYS is a mess; and I know times are tough, but darn it, we pay
some of the highest taxes in the country, and now it costs $6 just to go into
a state park, that, oh by the way, WE ALL READY PAID FOR!    I am not a
politician, but I do have a job in the public sector that is impacted by state
aid cuts.    Something has to change, and it has to be sooner rather than
later.
