September 26

For as great as summer was from May thru August, September sure
has been rotten!  Was talking to Capt. Gary (Kongo Sportfishing) today,
and told him that it occured to me that I only really fished for walleye seriously
twice in the whole month of September...and not for lack of trying....it has
simply been windy, windy windy!

This weekend was no exception....Saturday was rolling pretty hard; and
although it looked like it would lay down over the course of Sunday morning,
it to was too rough at least to start.....SOOOO, Jack and I went over to
Chautauqua Lake to do more perch fishing.

I think its great that he enjoys fishing, and obviously great that he wants to
spend time doing it with me (because someday he might not) but, as I told
my wife....I'm tired of catching small fish!   The panfish thing is what we did
last fall after "Times Two" was out for the season.....it wasn't supposed to
start so soon this year!

But, we had fun, and between the 2 of us we hooked into about 150 perch,
and sunnies.  We kept 14 for dinner.  I must admit, they are pretty tasty!
Also got to watch about 35 bass boat from Ohio come in for weigh in
at Long Point.   You cannot believe how fast they got all those boats
out!

Sadly, pulling "Times Two" if we get any kind of decent weather towards
the end of the week.  I held out for that one last shot....looks like I won't
get it this year.

But.....some fun trips coming soon.....so watch the journal for updates.....
