Raystown Lake October 18

My brother came up with the idea that we should try something different
this fall, so he did some research and made the arrangements to go
striper fishing on Raystown Lake, PA.

So, Capt. Bud, Capt Larry, Capt Gary, Brian, Doug, Mark, Jack and I
loaded up the cars yesterday for the 4.5 hr trip into PA.   Great afternoon
for a drive, and plenty of foliage to view in Allegany State Park on the way.

We stayed in Seven Points Lodge, a basic, yet nice cabin 5 miles
from the marina last night, and headed over this morning to meet
our guides John and Dan (www.striper-guide.com).

Raystown Lake is a 28 mile long Army Corp lake, so there are no
houses along the shore. Actually reminded me of Kinzua.  Our guide
told us it does get lots of boat pressure in the summer, and really had
a lot of traffic today, for being mid-October.

Another great fall day, plenty of sunshine, but unfortunately fishing
was not good.    Capt. Bud had 1 striper follow the lure he was
casting, and Jack got a smallmouth pushing 5lbs.   That was it
on our boat.  The other boat had 1 hit, and that was it.

Still was fun to hang out with the guys last night, and our guides we
really nice today....that's why they call it fishing, not catching!
