July 9, Day 1

Day 1 of the 2 day Ameracan Derby today out of Dunkirk.  Beautiful lake conditions,
but TONS of little bugs!  Unofficially, 81 boats entered.  5 fish per day, 2 day total
weight.

We opted to fish outside of our spot from yesterday, as we needed larger fish today
for the derby.  Plan was good, outcome was so-so.   We boxed 17.7lbs, but that leaves
us well back of the first place box (40.44lbs); and in the middle of the pack.

We got 8 in today, but most were more of the 3-4lb fish of the day before.  60-80 fow;
mixed bag of baits....10 color with 5" chatterstick (green); board line with jet at 145 and
a black/purple harness; purple sunrise WD off a 45 rigger, and a 3" chatter off a 105 slide
all produced fish.

Back on the lake in the morning for round 2!!
