August 6 & 7 Con Club Day 2-3
DAY 2
Had a great start to Day 2 about "Kongo". Had 5 fish in the box pretty quick, and lost
another 5 or 6, all before 10 am. Then it died, big time! Ended up with 8 in the box
for just under 18lbs. Big slides at 145 with chattersticks; and the board line with
a small dipsey w/ring at 175 and a black/orange harness was our best. Some really
great boxes were brought in! We managed to move up from 89 to 78, which considering
how terrible Friday was, was pretty good!
Day 3
Got to the boat real early today, but opted to wait for a bit as there was a pretty good
t-storm showing on radar. That ended up cutting underneath Dunkirk, but from what
I understand, it gave some of the guys at Barcelona a couple of hairy moments including
static on the rods, and the hair on the arms standing up! Yikes.
Got 8 more in today, but no weight. Ended up boxing just over 15lbs, and unofficially
it moved us up to 62 from 78th.
165 slide diver with a black/silver chatters was good, as was the 10 color early with
the 5" green. Also took one of a 55 rigger on a WD mojo.
Winning team boxed over 74lbs in 3 days for 9 fish. Pretty awesome total!
Had a fish fry after with the 24 team, plus a couple of other friends! Delicious.
Special thanks to Wavy One (Kevin) for the dipping sauce!! We had walleye bacon
wrapped with and without pineapple chunks and BBQ sauce; deep fried; 2 kinds of
pan fried; and we tried some grilled with a touch of BBQ sauce on that. All was good!!

Reality tomorrow as we need to deal with the engine issues......
