Got out today with Adam and Marty from Canadaway Creek Outfitters to do some stream fishing with special guests Dan Bylsma (Head Coach of the Buffalo Sabres) and Jim Hanley (local fishing icon and host of Northeast Outdoors).
Very chilly start and a slippery walk upstream, but the CCO boys finally got it dialed in. Coach Dan with his first Lake Erie trib steelhead.
Really great morning talking fishing…..wish we could have stayed a bit longer with them, but we had an afternoon commitment. If you have any interest in Lake Ontario or Lake Erie fall/winter trib fishing, drop me a note and I can hook you up with Adam and Marty.
Thanks to all of you that stopped by our booth and/or attended our seminar last weekend. It was great to be able to talk some fishing!
Only about 90 more days til splashdown in Wilson!
I will be teaming up again this year with Captain Gary (Kongo Sportfishing Charters) for a booth at the Greater Niagara Falls Fishing and Outdoors Expo, January 22-24.
Last year’s show was a lot of fun, and we got to talk lots of fishing with all of you! Captain Gary and I will once again be doing a seminar as part of the walleye fishing group on Saturday, January 23. Time is yet to be determined, so please check back.
We will have some nice used rods and reels available again this year as well as our calendars if you want to reserve a date or dates for Lake Ontario (May) or Lake Erie (June-September).
Stop by our booth and say hello!!
Great fall/winter weather has left the local tributaries wide open so far, so we took what is becoming an annual New Year’s Day walk with Jack and Marty (Canadaway Creek Outfitters). Most of our fishing was done in the midst of our first measurable snow of the year!
I hooked up on my second drift of the year…beauty of a silver steelhead, but when I went to rinse the snow off her for a pic, zip she was gone! Jack and Marty each hooked up too, to get the skunk out of the box early in 2016!
Headed back out for a couple hours today alone, and this time I did get the picture!
