July 28 & 29.
Mother Nature continues to rub salt in the wounds. Big northeast blow which not only hurts the bite….you can’t get out there either!!
The lake finally calmed down, and we headed out with unknown abounding! Decided to push east to try to find warmer water. Dropped in about 2 miles out, and it was frigid! 12 degree break from 40′ to 43′ and 45 degrees. Nope. Moved another 4 miles east and set up. Temps slightly better…but…
Had one hook up on a rigger/spoon pretty quick..then dried up. So we decided to hook out to deeper water and promptly popped 3 quick ones. Hmmm…sounds like a north/south troll to me!
Ended up with a pretty decent box, plus the 2017 customary kickbacks. 5 color and 7 color with Bay Rats was the best set up, plus some regular sticks (red) on the 90/95 slide divers early. Ten color late. Plus a couple of hefty lakers on a custom set up Yeck.
Thank you to Mary and crew for the support of Brooks Memorial Hospital! Nice job on the rods too!!
Next up….the 3 day Conservation Club tournament….and the early forecast is looking to be pretty snotty! Great 🙁
