Well, having seen the results of the previous night, and earlier today, Jack had to get in on the action. So we headed back out for a couple of hours after dinner.
Had this brown hit the 7 color as I was setting it in the release.
Followed that up with 4 walleye in short order. Not too bad, and that means walleye tacos in our future!
Same set ups as last two times out.
Had Jay and Clem again this morning. Actually had a first for “Times Two Charters”. Clem got on a 10lb walleye last night as the last fish of the day, then got onto another 10lber, to start today before we had all the lines in the water!
Same program as night before with the 6/7 color working the best, and the 45 rigger was pretty hot too.
The purple scatteraps were good again, and we had a couple go on the Bay Rat purple mamba. 70-85 fow was the best.
Our friends Jay and Clem made it back up to WNY again, and thankfully brought some good luck and good fishing with them!
The boys caught a window of good weather, and we got on to the walleye right off the bat!
Full stick bait program, running a mix of 6 color, 7 color, and 10 color leadcore, the 45 rigger was good, and we took fish on the 145 on the divers. Baits were Rapala scatterraps, and Renoskys!
Very honored to have Irag/Afghanistan veteran Warren, his son Greg and friend Jason aboard today. Thank you very much for your service!
The boys had never fished Lake Erie before, and we were able to come up with a mixed bag of lakers, walleye and a brown and of course the standard 40 silver bass!
10 color took all the walleye shots today on the green, 5″ chattersticks, still more from the Scatteraps, and one on a Renosky. Yecks did the damage on the trout off the riggers!
Kevin and his dad joined us for the second half of license free weekend. Took this 28″ beauty before we even had all the rods in the water! Kevin’s best to date!
Leadcore continues to rule, and the scatter Rapala’s have been the best bait at the start of this year.
License free weekend in NYS!
Got my friend Matt on board, and he brought along his friend Misha, from Russia. Misha had never experienced Great Lakes fishing, although he shared a bunch of stories and photos of his brother back home.
Always really cool to have someone on board that is so excited to catch a walleye or laker!
The sliced pickles with the vodka (later at the dock) was interesting too!
Had a double boat trip with Kongo Charters…..A group of West Virginia bass fishermen in town for the week looking for something different to try….
We had Darin and Eric on board our boat, and put them on to some really nice ‘eyes and a handful of lakers!
Not too bad for a couple of bass fisherman! Darin said he was never on the internet either…so here you go!!
We’re about to start our Lake Erie trips for this summer….so we figured we’d scout around a bit on the front end of those…..
6/21 Took a long run east with Gerb to see what might be by the Catt. Decent screen, but had to work for them. 5 color with a rapala was the best for us, 55-60 ft of water. Our first walleye in the box for the year!
6/22 Mother Nature continues to be cruel to the Dunkirk walleye fisherman…..day 5?? of northeast wind has the temperature all messed up. Searched around with Gerb and Jack, and finally found some fish! All nices ones, but you’re really working for them right now.
Big slide diver at 75; 4 color and 5 color leadcore with stickbaits. At least the walleye tacos were worth the effort!!
We learned recently that the GO Daddy Blog cast service that we’ve been using was not going to be supported anymore. But GO Daddy has assisted us with a transition to Word Press!
Not sure how far back we can get back up, or if we’ll just start fresh…but thank you for your patience as we work thru this!
